Dominic Locher is an independent director-shooter-editor focusing on creating insightful films for responsible brands, environmental organisations, and international social enterprises, currently based in Sydney.
Dominic’s recent production focus has seen him create work exposing the fair-trade welfare of factory workers in China for an online shopping giant, the success story of a seaweed farm in the Faroe Islands, an entrepreneurial up-cycling youth incubator programme with the British Council in Cape Town, and an offshore filming assignment with The Ocean Clean Up, documenting their ongoing efforts to rid our oceans of plastic.
Graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2004, Dominic set up shop in Sydney, where over the next decade he directed, shot, and edited branded content, ads, and fashion films around the world for brands like H&M, ONLY, UNIQLO, QANTAS, VODAFONE, CANON, TOURISM AUSTRALIA, CARTIER, JACK DANIELS, THE ICONIC and many more.
Dominic worked closely with advertising agencies on award winning global campaigns for LEO BURNETT, DROGA 5, M&C SAATCHI, PUBLICIS MOJO, and creative agency PAPER STONE SCISSORS.
Dominic’s early one-man-band approach to directing, filming, and editing, proved a success with Australian experiential campaign agencies, record labels Sony BMG and EMI, and music TV Chanel MTV, where through producing promos, fashion film, and music documentary, he soon shaped his fluid cinematic style and emotive visual identity.
Dominic counts his work for the award winning global events company RIZER as one of his special clients, covering world class events for brands like BULGARI, RANGE ROVER, SKII, ERNST & YOUNG (EY), THE AUSTRALIAN, and the 2012 LONDON OLYMPICS, as well as large scale private events in Monaco.
